Had $6 steak and cheese pie and $4 chocolate slice. Many bakeries serve pies that are mostly gravy but this had a generous serving of steak. The choc slice was also nice. Very good food.

Fresh delicious toastie, hot tea, excellent value. Portion sizes are huge for cabinet food. Good variety too. Pies seem to be a favourite.

Come for the climb, stay for the pies. After a semi-leisurely climb up Mount Te Aroha, my friend and I decided to stop at Kevin's Bakery for a food replen. The exterior seemed unassuming, and we were prepared for a meal pervaded by mediocrity. Upon entry, we were happily greeted by Kevin and his wife as we carefully selected our afternoon meal; she chose a butter chicken pie, I went for the reliable staple of steak and onion. The dappled sunlight splashed across our faces outside, as we cautiously bit into the crust. Dense chunks of meat and gravy filled my mouth, whilst flakes of perfectly formed pastry fell across my lap. I was in pie heaven. Within a few minutes I had consumed this bountiful feast, and returned back into the store for more. 10/10, would purchase multiple pies again.

I travel the long way to thames just so I can stop in for a pie! Bonus that the staff are so lovely. The little park behind the bakery is a wonderful place to stop for a break too. YUM
